Grand Canyon National Park, in Arizona, is home to much of the immense Grand Canyon, with its layered bands of red rock revealing millions of years of geological history. It has a beautiful Desert View.
We planned this trip in month of December, usually best time to visit this place are March through May and September through November. we choose for road trip from San Diego to Arizona via Vegas, So that we wont get tired of driving continuously.
We started from San Diego in afternoon time, and spent our evening in Vegas and stayed in MGM Grand Resort. Our first stop for the next day was Hoover Dam, it was 1 hour drive from the Resort, So we started at 7AM.
Hoover Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the U.S. states of Nevada and Arizona. Dam is a 700-hundred-foot-tall, and is a modern marvel of the world.

After visiting Hoover Dam, our next stop was Skywalk and Eagle Point. It is 2hours drive from dam. Skywalk is open from 11AM to 4PM, and offers beautiful view that you can’t get anywhere else. The glass floor is so dang cool and looking out is very spectacular. You have to buy tickets online before going to Skywalk. The only thing is that you cannot take your phone/camera out to there so you will have to put them in the lockers. They do have photographers that will take your photos but it cost $16 per photo you choose. You can buy tickets from the link : https://grandcanyonwest.com/explore/west-rim/skywalk-eagle-point/

After this, we head towards Grand Canyon, since that was the peak time so we dint got any lodge available at that time and we dint had done pre booking also. So we stayed at the place which is 2 hours from canyon and started early in the morning from that place so that we can cover all the view points.
Tips: make sure your car’s gas tank is full .
Now there are two parts of Grand Canyon, South Rim and North Rim and you cannot cover both Rim on same day. The South Rim is open year-round. The North Rim is open from mid-May through mid-October due to heavy snowfall in that area.
From the South Rim, you can experience the Grand Canyon from close to two dozen viewpoints, each with their own unique attributes and they are stunning. This Rim is more developed and has many facilities like lodging, restaurant, visitors center etc.
The North Rim is a very remote destination there is very limited lodging and services, but if you’re willing to make the trek, the North Rim has a beautiful rugged views and trails do offer hiking, backpacking, camping and river rafting opportunities, which makes the North Rim a fantastic choice for visitors who seek a more primeval, natural, quiet and uncrowded Grand Canyon experience.
As our visit time was December so there was little snow but was very cold climate and because of that North Rim was closed. So we decided to visit South Rim and view all the beautiful points. There are free shuttles, so you can park your car and visit the points in shuttle because there are some points where you are not allowed to take you vehicle.

We have completed all viewpoints in a day, then we decided to spent our night in Page, Arizona. So that we can get ready to explore new adventurous spot Antelope next day. Our drive from Canyon to hotel was just amazing, it was scenic canyon drive on narrow road and you can see canyons on both sides. It has beautiful view as the sun descends slowly to the horizon, the canyon walls glow with deep mauve, lavender and violet colors, while cotton-candy clouds and sherbet skies produce a show worth watching even if you don’t have a direct view of the sun.

Tuweep Point
The view from Toroweap Overlook, 3000 vertical feet (914 meters) above the Colorado River, is a breathtaking sheer drop. Tuweep is on the northwest rim of the Grand Canyon on the Arizona Strip. A visit to this area can be challenging, but rewarding.

TIPS : You can experience all the beautiful views of Canyon from top by taking Helicopter Tour.
